Terms of use

You need an account to publish, adapt, or comment. Keep your login details to yourself, use a real email we can reach you at, and don't share an account with someone else. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

You keep the copyright in everything you write here. We don't claim ownership of your lessons, and we don't sell them.

To run the site we need a limited technical permission from you: to store, back up, display, and transmit your content so the app can show it to you and — for public lessons — to other teachers. That's it. It ends when you delete the content, apart from routine backups aging out.

When you mark a lesson Public, you license it to everyone under CC BY-SA 4.0. Others may share and adapt it, including commercially, provided they credit you, link to the license, note any changes, and license their version the same way. We ask you to confirm this each time you publish.

This grant is irrevocable for copies already made — that's inherent to the license, not something we add. You can take a lesson private or delete it at any time, which stops further sharing from Kuricula but can't recall copies already out in the world.

By publishing a lesson or attaching a file, you're telling us that:

• you made it, or you otherwise have the right to share it under CC BY-SA 4.0;
• it doesn't infringe anyone's copyright — publisher worksheets, textbook pages, purchased curricula, and stock images generally cannot be shared here;
• it contains no student information, no personal data about others, and nothing confidential to your school or district;
• it doesn't violate your employer's policy on work you create.

That last one is worth a moment: in some districts, materials made on school time can belong to the district. Worth checking before you publish.

If something here infringes your copyright, or contains student or personal data, tell us at {{CONTACT_EMAIL}} and we'll review it promptly. Include a link to the lesson and what the problem is.

For copyright specifically, our copyright & takedown policy sets out the full notice and counter-notice procedure. We remove infringing material once we're aware of it, and we terminate accounts that repeatedly post it.

Don't upload malware, scrape the site in ways that degrade it for teachers, harass people in comments or Field Notes, misrepresent who you are, or try to break into parts of the app that aren't yours. We may remove content or suspend accounts that do.

Lessons can link to files in your Google Drive. Those files stay in your Drive under Google's terms and your sharing settings — we don't host or license them. If you publish a lesson linking a private Drive doc, other teachers will see a link they can't open; the app warns you about this before you publish.

Kuricula and everything on it is provided as-is. Lessons are written by teachers, not vetted by us — we don't guarantee any lesson is accurate, standards-aligned, or right for your classroom. To the fullest extent the law allows, PlehnLabs isn't liable for losses arising from using the site or anything shared on it. You're the professional in your room; use your judgment.

You can delete your lessons or your account whenever you like. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms. Remember that public lessons already licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0stay licensed for copies already made, even after you leave.

If we change these terms meaningfully, we'll say so in the app rather than quietly swapping the page. Continuing to use Kuricula after that means the new terms apply.
